Shows the month of October on a calendar

As you’re unpacking Halloween decorations, you might be realising that the year is nearly over and your plans for a career change haven’t quite materialised.

If you’re feeling disheartened, remember that there are still two months left in the year. Don’t let the remaining time slip away without taking some meaningful steps towards your career goals.

Let’s reflect on what might have gone wrong and how to make the most of the time we have left.

What went wrong?
Alright, let’s take a step back and figure out why things didn’t go as planned. Did money matters put a damper on your dreams of going back to study or cutting down your work hours? Or maybe life threw some unexpected health curveballs your way? Perhaps you were just feeling lost and not sure which way to go. Let’s dig deep and get to the bottom of it.

It’s important to do this thinking, because if you don’t know what’s been holding back you won’t know how to address it in future. And if you need an objective ear to help you do this then I have a special discount on my coaching sessions in October. Hit reply to find out more.

Time for a game plan
Now that we know what’s been holding us back, it’s time to come up with a plan. If time was your nemesis, let’s create a killer schedule that puts your career change right on top. Money troubles? Let’s map out a budget-friendly roadmap to keep things rolling, even if you can’t make the leap just yet. My last blog post was about this topic so check it out.

Remembering why you started
Take a breather and think back to why you wanted this change in the first place. Was it about finding a gig that actually got you excited? Or maybe it was all about work-life balance? Whatever it was, let’s make sure it still lights a fire under you. If it does, well, then we’ve got something worth chasing, don’t we?

Time to reframe the plan
Dust off that old plan you had, or hey, if you never got around to making one, no worries! I’ve got just the thing for you. Let’s tweak it a bit, make it more ‘you.’ And don’t forget, we can always leave the heavy lifting for next year. But at least we’ll kick off 2025 with a bang, right?

Rallying the troops
You don’t have to go at it alone, you know. Reach out to me or someone who’s been through the same journey. ‘Tis the season for gatherings, so take advantage of that office Christmas party or neighbourhood get-together. Who knows, you might just find your new mentor over that glass of bubbles!

Enjoying the ride
While it might seem disheartening that your plans to change careers haven’t materialised as quickly as you had hoped, know that it’s never too late to pursue your aspirations. Use this time to reflect, re-evaluate, and re-strategise. With the right mindset and a well-thought-out plan, you can make your career change a reality in 2024.

I also wanted to remind you that I have a special discount for the month of October. So if you need help getting back on track, I am offering one on one career change strategy sessions for $100. So get in quick and contact me.
